About EVAOS

EVAOS, born out of the passion of a former Tesla Director, was founded by Don Matheson in 2012 on the principle of addressing customer’s requirements by electrifying vehicles with add-on kits for new and used vehicles.

EVAOS’s design, development, testing, production, and supply chain strategies have always been geared on leveraging the expertise, knowledge, and skills of former Tesla employees, particularly early hires. These early Tesla hires were challenged with unique design challenges in integrating a fully electric drive train, battery, and high voltage cooling system into a Lotus frame and body. These design challenges required inventiveness, imagination and ingenuity, traits that directly translated to EVAOS for the development of our line of bi-directional (V2G) trucks that were sold to the United States (US) Department of Defense (DOD) for use in DOD’s Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) program.

EVAOS’s areas of expertise include power electronics, electric motors, battery testing and packaging, battery management system (BMS) design and development, design for serviceability, test engineering, supply chain management, and after sales operations.

EVAOS also engaged Government and industry leaders in the fields of transportation and electrification. For example, in late 2012, Paul Skalny, a retired US Department of the Army senior-level executive recognized as “…one of the nation’s most innovative and influential leaders in the development of advanced technologies for trucks, in particular hybrid systems…” joined EVAOS and is still a strategic partner.

EVAOS also forged, and continues to forge, strategic relationships with companies on the leading edge of technology, supplementing EVAOS’s internal design and development expertise, which enables EVAOS to push the limits of expeditiously integrating solutions into Class 2 through Class 8 trucks, now and in the future.

EVAOS uses a proven supply chain model, allowing us to slow or accelerate execution in alignment with early adopter growth, marketplace need, and anticipated national or international expansion. Our supply chain model ensures that manufacturing, assembly labor, and the associated overhead are carried by the suppliers (on-demand) and our install partners (OEM dealerships and/or independent installers).
